We invited Sean and his mum Annette to meet us at our office and find out more about Sean and his ambitions. Sean wanted employment to give him purpose and dignity and Annette wanted to stop worrying about Sean's future, you could see the stress and frustration . As with all our candidates, Neil went through a comprehensive Talent and Skills checklist to find out as much as possible about Sean.
We felt that Sean would benefit from our Pathway 2 Employment Academy and began weekly sessions with Sean both in our office and remote sessions at Sean’s home.
Over 24 weeks Sean developed his ABILITES and grew in confidence session by session week by week using bite-size learning modules and supervised development projects.
Annette was kept updated with Sean’s progress and with our advocacy and support Annette has re-applied for PiP and a Social Care Budget for Sean. We believe these are both packages Sean needs and deserves.
What is clear is Sean’s talent in his Autism makes him an amazing administrator with 100% attention to detail and a HUGE passion for accuracy.
We feel Society can stereotype people with unique ABILITIES as negative or as a problem, which as we know is not true, it is, in fact, a valuable asset. Through Pathway 2 Employment Sean developed a GROWTH mindset allowing him to focus on a positive future.
We are thrilled that Sean’s Journey has led to an offer of employment with Stafford & Co Accountants.
The hours and days have been agreed firstly with Sean and then confirmed with Stafford and Co to ensure they do not create a stressful commute to work and ensure Sean does not take on too many hours that may cause stress or affect his other social activities.
Sean’s well-being is the most important part of his employment, only forward-thinking innovative companies understand this and reap the benefits.
"Sean’s talent in his Autism makes him an amazing administrator with 100% attention to detail"
